Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, account credentials, uploaded books and manuscripts, narrator selections, and messages you send us.
We also collect technical and usage information when you use BookWave, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, feature activity, error logs, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Your books and audio
The books, manuscripts, and other files you upload are used to provide the service you request: extracting text, generating narration, assembling chapters, and making your completed audiobook available to you. We also store related metadata, such as title, author, cover art, processing status, and voice settings.
We do not claim ownership of your uploads or completed audiobooks. We do not sell them, publish them, or use their contents to advertise to you. Access is limited to you, our service providers acting on our behalf, and our team when reasonably necessary to support, secure, or operate BookWave.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account;
- process uploads and generate audiobooks;
- provide purchases, subscriptions, credits, and billing support;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve BookWave;
- send service notices and respond to your requests; and
- comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
How information is shared
We share information only as needed with vendors that help us run BookWave, including hosting and file-storage providers, authentication services, AI narration providers, analytics and monitoring providers, and customer-support tools. These providers may process information only to perform services for us and subject to their contractual and legal obligations.
Payments are processed by Stripe. BookWave does not store your full payment-card number. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
BookWave uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, prevent fraud, understand product performance, and measure use of the service. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of BookWave from working.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your audiobook library, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and protect BookWave. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we hold it.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password and protect access to your account.
Your choices and rights
You may update certain account information from your settings and manage billing through the customer portal. You may also ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to appeal a decision.

International transfers
BookWave and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers and handle information as described in this policy.
