Before you start
Use a clean, final copy of the book. Removing duplicate title pages, indexes, and unrelated appendices gives you the best listening experience.
- Have your EPUB, PDF, DOCX, or TXT file ready.
- Confirm that you have permission to create an audio version.
- For scanned PDFs, make sure the text can be selected and copied.
Upload and preview

From your dashboard, select Create, then upload a file or choose a public-domain title.

Check the title, author, cover art, language, chapter list, and estimated narration length.

Choose a narrator
Listen to the same passage in several voices. Pick the voice that best fits the pace and tone of the book.

Start creating
Confirm the price or available credits, then start production. You can leave the page while BookWave works.
What happens after upload
BookWave extracts the text, identifies chapter boundaries, prepares narration, and assembles the final audio files. Your dashboard shows the current stage and an updated completion estimate.
- Queued — your book is waiting to begin.
- Preparing — the text and chapters are being organized.
- Narrating — audio is being created chapter by chapter.
- Finishing — cover art, chapters, and metadata are being added.
- Ready — the audiobook can be streamed or downloaded.
